The Landheim Law Enforcement Training Center takes great pride in the quality of its training programs and staff.  Our goal is to always offer the latest and best training available.  

The Instructor's course is geared towards training an officer from your department in new, innovative methods of Police Dog Training. The Instructor Course, which is eight weeks in duration and entails 440 hours of instruction, is detailed with information concerning psychological evaluation of prospective K-9's.  This knowledge gives an excellent awareness of what limitations and potentials exist with your dog.

  3. Review case laws concerning the use of Force Apprehension

  4. Practicality and application of Reasonable Force Apprehension

  5. Courtroom presentation and behavior

  6. Muzzle training, theory and practice

  7. Methods of instruction

  8. Agitation techniques with muzzle, ring suit, civil, concealed and exposed sleeve

  9. Equipment currently available for apprehension training

  10. Building search tactics

  12. Psychology use and training for the Three Phase Release

Instructor Course Formats and Prices

Format I

Landheim will conduct and eight week Instructor Training Program where your officer will receive training to prepare him to handle the training and retraining needs of your departments K-9.  This in-depth training course will include classroom, written exams and field work.  Tuition for this course is $9,000.00 including the purchase of a dog.  This includes all instruction, use of equipment, notebooks, kenneling and board of the dog.  This does not include food and lodging for the officer.  

Format II

You may choose to send your officer to our eight week Instructor School and not purchase a dog.  The tuition is $6,500.00 not including housing or food for the officer. 

Format III

Landheim will conduct an Instructor School, four weeks in duration, for either Patrol or Detector.  Cost of this course is $5,500.00 for Detector, $6,500.00 for Patrol with a dog or $3,500.00 for Detector, $4,500.00 for Patrol if no dog is purchased.  This does not include food or lodging for your handler.

In order to guarantee enrollment in the above courses, Landheim must receive a signed contract from the department accompanied by a check or purchase order number for one-half of the contract price, six weeks prior to the first day of class.  Any department may sign up by telephone but will not be guaranteed the class until contract and money or purchase order are received.  Balance due at start of first class.
