Welcome to the Sandridge Bank Club

Police K9 Lecture and Demonstration on March 14, 2002.

Landheim Training Director Bob Fleming opens the demonstration with a lecture on the capabilities of K-9 dogs vs. machines for Detector work.

Bob Fleming answers questions about a dogs ability to separate odors.  The crowd was amazed to hear that unlike humans who smell only the beef stew cooking, dogs are able to smell each ingredient - the pea, carrot, potato, beef etc.

Officer Keith Stevens of the Crown Point, Indiana Police Department with his K-9 "Enzo" demonstrate his olfactory prowess by searching a series of boxes until he finds the one in which heroin has been placed.  "Enzo" does an aggressive alert by scratching on the box.

Officer Stevens rewards "Enzo" for his good work with a play session of "tug the towel".

"Enzo" waits for his partner to throw the towel away to signal the start of another search.

"Enzo" sits in amazement listening to the lecture on his abilities.

Quoted afterward "Enzo" said  "Even I didn't know I was that good".
