Welcome to Landheim K-9 Law Enforcement Training Center
The Landheim Law Enforcement Training Center takes great pride in the quality of its training programs and staff. All of our K9 law enforcement trainers are current or retired police officers who know what it's like to make the call on today's fast paced and ever-changing streets. This, as opposed to working in the vacuum of a high security government installation or military base, is critical in understanding how to train your K9 team. Our goal at Landheim is to always offer the latest and best training available.
During detector work, enough time is available for teaching the dogs to give unmistakable and clear indications, which are necessary in today’s courts. Whether a passive or aggressive alert is taught, a clear indication is possible in narcotics, explosives, arson and weapon searches today due to the innovative manner in which these detector dogs are trained. The safest procedures are taught to the participant so that these highly stressful situations can be handled with greater competency. Due to a more complete awareness of the scent capabilities of dogs when tracking, extremely efficient results are now obtained through the training procedures that were developed here and are now being used in Europe and around the world. Dogs are taught to track in all terrains and surfaces and clearly indicate any evidence found along the track of the perpetrator. In our highly mobile society, offenders often have transportation waiting after the commission of a crime. Therefore, the actual path of the suspect and any evidence available is of utmost importance. Not only can offenders be apprehended, but also discarded evidence may link them to the crime.
