Patrol/Narcotics Format I (Passive or Aggressive Alert)
Landheim pre-trains a
suitable dog. This dog will be trained to meet the specifications for a
police service dog and specification for a narcotics detector dog. The
department then sends it's officer through a six week handler course.
This course includes both classroom and practical field work. This course
is superior to other handler courses because of the amount of knowledge the
handler receives. You get back a trained dog as well as a trained
officer. Format I is inclusive of the purchase of the dog, pre-training
of the dog, all instruction, use of equipment, and handler text along with FREE maintenance training the
first year; nominal fee thereafter. Classes are limited to six officers
per session. Housing and food for the officer are not
included.
Patrol/Narcotics
Format II (Passive
or Aggressive Alert)
A department may send
it's own officer and dog both having received prior training from another
source through a four week handler course. The dog must pass the Landheim
selection test. This course includes both classroom and practical field
work. Format II is inclusive of all instruction, use of equipment,
and handler text and includes FREE maintenance training the first year; nominal fee
thereafter. Classes are limited to six officers per session.
Housing and food for the officer are not included.
In
order to guarantee enrollment in the Patrol/Narcotics I or II course, Landheim
must receive a signed contract from the department accompanied by a check or
purchase order number for one-half of the contract price, six weeks prior to
the first day of class. Any department may sign up by telephone but will
not be guaranteed the class until contract and money or purchase order are
received. Balance due at start of first class.
